I’ve never really considered a smart door lock for my place, only reason being that I don’t know about the whole fail safe operation. If I lock myself out with a conventional lock and key I can just call any locksmith to break it open. However what do you do if you lock yourself out with one of these?

You really can’t lock yourself out with one of these. You can ubnlock these with a code, an app or your smartphone, your fingerprint or a key. So if you know the code, or have your phone or keys on you or your fingers, in the case of the fingerprint lock, you should be fine to get in. If the batteries run out of power the lock won’t operate unless you use a key but most of these have a backup power system like contacts for a 9volt battery to “jump it” for one time use to let you get in.

I love those fingerprint/smart locks. For me, it works more effectively than a simple code because while a code can technically be broken or bypassed, it’s much harder to do so with a fingerprint. The reviews are substantial enough for me to say this lock does what it says it’ll do as well – especially given its high rating. Perfect for anyone who are unable or unwilling to deal with combos.
